I'm back with a card for the new Sugar Bowl challenge, and the sketch has been provided by Sweetie Maria Therese. The option is a nice and easy one...Birthday, very handy as we all need a steady supply of birthday cards and this week is packed full of birthdays for my family and friends.
Today is my Sugar Mama Gayle's birthday....*Happy Birthday Sweetie, hope this day is a special one*
I wonder who will spot my stupid mistake??
I coloured up this gorgeous Sassy image Boho Chic a couple of weeks ago, the minute I got my inky hands on her. But I must have had a little interruption in brain activity because on my image she is wearing a scoop neck top, and on everyone else's that I've seen since she has on a polo neck! A little brain blip on my part.
As usual she's been coloured with DI's and Nick bantock inks, the box around the image is a Waltzing Mouse stamp set, the DP is Stampin'Up Elegant Soiree, the teeny weeny tag is made from PTI's Tiny tag stamps and dies.
The fabulous prize for one lucky winner is a set of 6 pick 'n' mix Sugar Nellie stamps. What would you choose? To maybe buy some older images and fill in some gaps in your collection, or the new Sassys perhaps?
For all the details please pop on over to the Sugar Bowl blog where you will also find lots of inspiration from all the other Sweeties including.....our own lovely Pat who has returned to the Sugar Bowl *Welcome back Pat, I kept the home fires burnin' for ya!*
Thanks for looking and for any comments you may leave.

Hi Elaine
ReplyDeletelove it, colours are um um (new word for great), I didn't realise that stampin up did such delish colours (may just have to get some of those). I love the sweet image, & I think she looks just great with her scoop neckline (too hot for polo necks anyway).

gorgeous card Elaine! i cant see any mistake? looks ok to me
ReplyDeletewow gorgeous colours Elaine .. and i love the simpler layout.. Beautiful papers

If the polo neck is the mistake - I disagree, for I like her scoop neckline. I like the effectiveness of placing the shell patterned paper the opposite way to the scalloped border & your trademark pearl embellishing. You've definitely got a knack with legs & feet (Swedish joke à la PEP).
ReplyDeleteMuch love from me.
Paula (PEP)
PS - I like the way the flower diagonally opposes the bow tie of her belt for the loops compliment each other nicely like that. Now I've rambled....
I just lurves this card my dear! She is a fab and funky Sassy girl! Love the frame around her..off to go hunt it down in Waltzing Mouse :)) your colouring as always is truly stunning!
ReplyDeleteBig hugs,
Judy xx
P.S. she looks great with her scoop neck :)

Elaine...this is stunning!! (And I even like that you cut off her legs!! hehe!) I love these papers...this reminds me that I have some of them in one of my stashes! I absolutely LOVE your coloring...it's so rich! And...I had to laugh when you mentioned your "mistake"! Let me tell ya, girlfriend, that mistake was pure inspiration! I love the neckline! Thanks for the warm welcome back...and for keeping those fires burning! Hugs. Pat

Ha, ha - I wouldn't have noticed if you hadn't said anything - at least her top is skin toned anyway!! Gorgeous card, Elaine - as I said on facebook, I love how you've used the image and 'cut her legs off' IYKKWIM LOL!! Hugs, Marie xxx
ReplyDeleteBeautiful card, mistake or no mistake...I think its gorgeous. Great image, and fabulous colouring Elaine.

Well I like the scoop neckline and I'm just about to colour mine so I may just do her your way. You so have a knack of doing a simple style yet it is sooooo stunningly gorgeous, how do you do it? So clean and fresh, yet beautiful!
ReplyDeleteTalking of mistakes, I did one on 5th Avenue, although I did see another done the same way today, lol. I coloured her knee on the right as part of the dress, I thought it was flapping over as I put my legs like hers and thought the knee just wouldn't protrude out like that, maybe mine's too fat, so it had to be the dress. Then when I saw the hop badge I see that it was coloured as a skin coloured knee, Lol. You see were all as bad as one another!
Hugs Tracy x
Hi sweetie this is gorgeous & if I'm being honest I think it looks like sort of a scoop neck with a v in it cus if you look closely part of the v looks turned over. This is my opinion anyway & I will prob colour her the same way you have....when I get round to inking her that is lol.
ReplyDeleteI love the colours on this & your colouring is amazing as always hunni.
Hope you are ok hun, sorry I'm late getting here its taking ages to catch up with everyone with me being ill for a week.....I have numb fingers lol.
Lotsa hugs Vicky xxx

Elaine, that is why this is an art form. We (the crafter) can create from our view point. I love her with a scoop necked top and I think I would have seen it that way also! (Great there are two crazy's running around!)LOL! I love the soft blue and you have colored her to perfection.
