Sugar Bowl Challenge ~ 85

It's time for a new Sugar Bowl challenge and as always we have a fabulous sketch, this time from sweetie Kiki.
The optional theme - should you choose to follow it - is "shades of lilac".

(Happy Birthday Erika!!)
Hmmmm...more shades of purple than lilac in my case!
I gave Mori her first inking, I do love these girlies too :) I have coloured her mainly with DI markers this time. I have to say (again!) that I am loving the markers and enjoying playing with them, though beware the darker shades...Dusty Concord is very dark and was a devil to try and blend!
But I am learning as I go along :)
Out came my favourite Maja Design 'Fika' papers - I need some more of these - from Crea Shop Duymelot. There's a couple of punched flowers and leaves and a die cut butterfly, the sentiment and tag die is from PTI and of course a few pearls.

As always, there is a super sweet prize for one winner picked at random, their choice of any 4 Sugar Nellie stamps, rising to 6 stamps if we have 100+ entries.

Please visit the Sugar Bowl to see all the gorgeous cards from the other Sweeties.

I am going to enter this card into the Simon Says Challenge where their theme is 'Anything Goes"

Thanks for looking.

Candy Winner.

Oops this is so late! I apologise, but I've been struggling with my laptop.

I got a new laptop last week as the one I had was 5 years old and it started to make a really loud whirring noise and was getting very hot, so the new laptop arrived and hubby very kindly moved all my files over for me. That was a job and a half I tell ya! But he got it up and running for me and I've been using it for almost a week now, getting used to all the new features...and so far it's been fantastic.
Yesterday Mr Random picked a winner and I saved it down as usual but for some strange reason Picassa wouldn't see the photo and I couldn't get it to upload.
There's been a lot of sighing and frowning here but at long last, the winner of candy No5 is....

Dragonlady....congratulations Ali :)
If you can please EMAIL ME with your full postal address and I'll get your goodies in the mail.

Many thanks for all your lovely comments on my last card, I couldn't believe how many comments I got, maybe I need to ink up Tilda's more often, and enter challenges too!
Imagine how delighted I was this morning when I saw that I had been chosen for the spotlight at Sweet Stampin'....totally thrilled to bits and it really made my day, thank you so much for picking my card.

Thanks for looking.

Surprise...A Little Tilda!

Well everyone knows how much I loves my Sugars and these stamps are used on 99% of my cards, but every now and again I think it's good to try something different.
I needed to make a card for my very sweet friend Gayle's special BIG birthday, and I was pretty sure she would be expecting a card made with my mostest favouritest stamp ever...Pippi Longsocks so I searched through blogland to see if any other rubber could possibly tempt me.
And here is my first - and possibly last - Tilda.

The image is Summer Flower Tilda.
I've never coloured a Tilda before so it did take quite some time! She's coloured with a mix of DI re-inkers and  DI markers. I have been eyeing up the markers for a while, but just hadn't enough money to buy myself a set,  and I'm certainly nowhere near famous enough for Mr Holtz to donate any my way - though should anyone know Mr Holtz personally would you please ask him if the limited edition colours will be made available in the markers too :)
Since no-one was going to 'loan' me a set, and I had no luck winning any then I had to call on my knight in shining armour, who very kindly bought me them...thank you lovely husband of mine ♥♥♥
The divine papers are Inkido-Forever Collection (don't sell them all Astrid and Kees...I need MORE)
As always, the embellishments are meagre...I just can't add them so they look nice and not a pile of junk!

I did actually buy another Tilda, so there might possibly be a second stamp used in the future!

A-HA! I never enter any challenges as I always seem to be too late but I think I've found a couple I'm eligible to enter!
Simon Says Challenge asks for Clean and Simple...I'm always very simple :)
Die-ing For A Challenge asks for Dies...I've use the MFT butterfly and the Magnolia Heart Flourish.
Tilda Town is Anything Goes.
Bunny Zoe's Monthly Challenge is also Anything Goes, and I did buy them from Nikki.
Sweet Stampin' is Faeries and Angels.
Whoopee!! I've only ever entered one challenge before, when I first started my blog, and I got my legs slapped for not linking it correctly (as I didn't know how to!) Let's hope I've done these right!

Blog Birthday Candy ~ No5.

Firstly, I apologise for not being around in blogland this past couple of weeks. We've had a lot going on both at work and at home and I've been burning the candle at both ends to try and keep on top of things. I've not made it into bed before midnight and that's without going on blogger...I need matchsticks to keep my eyes open!

Where is this year vanishing to? I can't believe we're in May already and June is only just around the corner...I always think of June and weddings, so with that in mind, the next candy has a wedding theme.

Candy consists of:
Stampin' Up "Marry Me" stamp set.
LOTV corner stamps.
And from The Hobby House we have small adhesive pearl hearts, large adhesive pearl hearts, pearl heart pins and rose ribbon.

Rules of entry are the same as always :)
Thanks for looking - and entering.

Sugar Bowl Challenge ~ 84

Hip hip hooray....it's Sugar Bowl day :)

For this challenge we have a sketch from...no-one! Nope...no sketch, just a theme of "Anything Goes".
You could make a card, a tag, alter a notebook or anything else that takes your fancy. The only stipulation is that it must contain a Sugar Nellie image.

I have a confession to make...when rifling through my stamps I found this poor neglected one that had never been inked...terrible, I know! So of course I had to rectify that immediately and show Angellica some love.
As always, she's been coloured with DI's, the gorgeous papers are Maja Design Vintage Summer Basics from Crea Duymelot. The sentiment and tag are both from PTI, a Prima flower and a few pearls and that's the meagre embellies done.

As always there is a prize for one winner picked at random...their choice of any 4 Sugar Nellie stamps, rising to any 6 stamps if we reach 100+ entries.
I hope all you Sugar Addicts will join in with our challenge, and if you pop over to the Sugar Bowl you can see all the other Sweeties glorious cards :)
Thanks for looking.

Blog Birthday Candy ~ No4

I'm on a flying visit this morning, I have so much to get done today that I don't know where to start. Next week is a really busy one and I know I won't be around much, so I need to get everything ship shape at home today.

Another birthday candy, and I promise you that this is the last of the Christmas stuff!

So we have:
A pack of card blanks from Which Craft...they make the most fabulous shaped cards.
A sheet of unmounted stamps from Tickled Pink called Vintage Christmas sentiments..I used my pack of these on almost all last years Christmas cards.
The matching shaped die for the sentiments.
Simply Gorjuss 'Holly' stamp.
Prima Holiday Celebration poinsettias.
1 card of red/white gingham ribbon and 1 card of cherry/white divine twine, and some Christmas themed charms.

Same rules of entry as always.
Thanks for looking

Blog Birthday Candy ~ No3.

And now for something completely different....Toppers!!
I haven't bought a topper in years, not since I discovered rubber stamps :) I don't use toppers and don't even really like them but then I saw these...

These little beauties are from The Hobby House. Each pack contains either 4 or 6 die cut toppers and they are the best quality I've ever seen, the colouring is exceptional!
Now I know there are lots of crafters who love the whole colouring process, but I take so long to colour an image that I just haven't always got the time, and so I used some of these toppers to make gift bags for my nieces Easter gifts and birthday gifts and they looked amazing...even if I do say so myself.
The toppers as shown above are:
Spring Bringer, Suzi's Garden and Wee Bunnies, which are all designs by Sylvia Zet.
Day Dreaming, Strawberry Wishes and Cherry Kissing, which are all designs by Mo Manning.

Also included in this candy are the other items I used to make the gift bags/cards...

A pack of Which Craft tri-fold scallop card blanks....the circle toppers fit these beautifully.
A set of 12 clear sentiment stamps by Little Claire..I love these as the words are a little different from other circular sentiments.
5 kraft bags and 5 white bags for altering.
MME 6x6 pad Lime Twist..this is the DP I used and it went perfectly with some of the toppers.
Two bunches of roses and some pretty clear buttons and flowers.

Same rules of entry as always :)
Thanks for looking

Birthday Blog Candy No2 ~ Winner

Sorry this is late but we've had my parents over today, been out for a lovely lunch too so I've only just got on my laptop.
Thank you for all your entries, there are lots of you that still like Christmas candy even in May!
Mr Random has picked a winner....

Congratulations to Karin, if you can please EMAIL ME with your full postal address and I will get your parcel posted on Tuesday (it's a Bank Holiday in the UK on Monday and the post office is closed).

I will be back again tonight to post the next candy, just need to run upstairs and take a (bad) photo and write it all up. This candy is a little different and may well not appeal to a lot of crafters, but I really love it.
OK, less chatting Elaine and get them photos taken!

Sugar Bowl Challenge ~ 83

Sugar...ahhh honey honey..yep it's Sugar Bowl day...just in case you hadn't guessed :)
We have another fabulous sketch, this time from Sweetie Kiki, and an optional theme of "Use your favourite Sugar Nellie image"...whether that be a rubber stamp or a digi image.
Is that an easy theme or not?  NOT!! Very hard in fact, to try and choose just one image from all my lovely Sugar Nellie rubber babies! Of course I have my favourites, but I have a lot of favourites, so I narrowed it down by choosing the stamps I have inked up the most and I managed to get the list down to 4...and then it was a process of elimination. Luvvie I used for the previous Sugar Bowl challenge, and Elise was inked just a few weeks ago, so they both went back in the box. Pippi is still undoubtedly my favourite stamp ever but I have her ear marked for something in the very near future...so it left just one.....

...the gorgeous Bella Bunting :)
As is usual, she's been coloured with DI's. The papers are Elegant Soiree, a retired set from Stampin'Up which I had been hoarding until I saw THIS gorgeous card from Deb which made me want to dig them out again. A few embellies and the jobs done :)

The prize for one lucky winner chosen at random is their choice of any 4 Sugar Nellie stamps, rising to 6 stamps if we reach 100+ entries.
As always, there is a fabulous gallery of cards from the other Sweeties over on the Sugar Bowl to give you a little inspiration :)
Thanks for looking.
