Craft Room 'Before' Photos.

Hellooooo!
Yep, I'm back and this is going to be a long post...you may need cakes and a cuppa to see you through it all.

The first thing I must say is a HUGE thank you to all my friends and family for all your good wishes, gorgeous cards and far too generous gifts, and for making my 50th birthday a wonderful occasion. I was thoroughly spoilt ♥

My hubby finished my craft room on the Sunday, ready for my birthday on the Monday. Bless him but he's worked so hard to get it finished on time and all his hard work has paid off...I LOVE it so much!!
I took last week off work so I could start sorting through my crafty stash and putting it back into it's new home. I seriously underestimated how long this was going to take! I started on the Tuesday and finished it on  Saturday evening and I was working well past midnight for most of the week. I didn't even turn on my laptop, afraid that once it was on I'd lose half the day reading blogger or Facebook.

I took lots of 'before' and 'after' photos so I hope you'll see a big change!
Let's start with the 'before' ones...

This is the view into the room from the doorway. It was a perfectly workable space but somewhat cluttered and messy.

Going clockwise around the room, behind the door...

A wardrobe - awwww that's Hal's height chart still on the wall!

And the contents of the wardrobe...the crafty stash overspill and stuff I've been buying for the new room, and things put safely away ready for the move.

Next to the wardrobe is a little worktop with my laptop and TV on and Phil's printers on the shelf above.

Under the worktop.

Back up again, and moving left towards my work desk.
I'd been testing paint colours on the walls.

This is my work desk where I sit and colour.

Under the work desk.

And moving around the room back to the door is the last photo.
Oooo I left my fluffy socks on the radiator, sorry about that!

So those are the 'before' photos.
The next post will be the 'after' photos and a little candy to celebrate.

Thanks for looking and bearing with me.
Love 'n' hugs

The Ribbon Girl ~ Lovely Lili Challenge.

Good morning!

I've a card to share today although it's one I made quite a while ago, a couple of weeks before my craft room was dismantled and everything packed away.
This is my last GDT card for The Ribbon Girl where the theme is girly, how's that for a nice and easy challenge?

The image is Time Flies and I dug out my Inktense pencils to colour her with for a change.
I've had the boxed set of pencils for at least 5 years but only used them once or twice and both times with little success. But when I was at LOTV for their birthday celebrations, I watched my lovely buddy Dena colour with them and she advised me to try a different kind of card to colour on and it really does work a gazillion times better than the card I use for DI's. I still prefer the Distress Inks but I'm going to use the pencils some more and hopefully improve.
The papers are Maja Design Sofiera and the sentiment is an from an old set by Elzybells.

There's always a fantastic prize on offer and for the winner of this challenge it's a stamp of the winners choice from LOTV and a £10 voucher to spend at The Ribbon Girl.

A big thank you to Mary and Andrea for having me as a GDT and an even bigger thank you for asking me to become a permanent DT member!!!

So, for those that have asked about the craft room:
I got the room emptied of my craft stuff on the Bank Holiday Monday and then Phil set about dismantling the wardrobe, drawer unit and shelving and clearing everything out of the room. He's moved the radiator, put in some extra electrical sockets, cleaned walls, filled holes, sanded paintwork and has now started the painting.
Once the painting is finished then the fun stuff can begin!
Every evening after coming home from work I've spent trawling the Internet for furniture and pretty accessories. I found some good bargains, had some excellent service and some not so good service too.
When the room is finished I'll post the photos and add links to the sites where I've bought stuff, and there'll be a  little celebratory candy too.

Thanks for looking and for bearing with me.
