Surprise...A Little Tilda!

Well everyone knows how much I loves my Sugars and these stamps are used on 99% of my cards, but every now and again I think it's good to try something different.
I needed to make a card for my very sweet friend Gayle's special BIG birthday, and I was pretty sure she would be expecting a card made with my mostest favouritest stamp ever...Pippi Longsocks so I searched through blogland to see if any other rubber could possibly tempt me.
And here is my first - and possibly last - Tilda.

The image is Summer Flower Tilda.
I've never coloured a Tilda before so it did take quite some time! She's coloured with a mix of DI re-inkers and  DI markers. I have been eyeing up the markers for a while, but just hadn't enough money to buy myself a set,  and I'm certainly nowhere near famous enough for Mr Holtz to donate any my way - though should anyone know Mr Holtz personally would you please ask him if the limited edition colours will be made available in the markers too :)
Since no-one was going to 'loan' me a set, and I had no luck winning any then I had to call on my knight in shining armour, who very kindly bought me them...thank you lovely husband of mine ♥♥♥
The divine papers are Inkido-Forever Collection (don't sell them all Astrid and Kees...I need MORE)
As always, the embellishments are meagre...I just can't add them so they look nice and not a pile of junk!

I did actually buy another Tilda, so there might possibly be a second stamp used in the future!

A-HA! I never enter any challenges as I always seem to be too late but I think I've found a couple I'm eligible to enter!
Simon Says Challenge asks for Clean and Simple...I'm always very simple :)
Die-ing For A Challenge asks for Dies...I've use the MFT butterfly and the Magnolia Heart Flourish.
Tilda Town is Anything Goes.
Bunny Zoe's Monthly Challenge is also Anything Goes, and I did buy them from Nikki.
Sweet Stampin' is Faeries and Angels.
Whoopee!! I've only ever entered one challenge before, when I first started my blog, and I got my legs slapped for not linking it correctly (as I didn't know how to!) Let's hope I've done these right!
Love

You did a fabulous job of your coloring and i do like that you used minimal embellishments that didnt detract from your fabulous image

  7. She's beautiful... love her sparkly wings. I too am pining for distress markers... but then they'd just sit, because I have no time to craft (nor e-mail, as you might've noticed!). Hope all is well with you and yours! We are knee deep in puppy training and getting very little sleep. P.

  8. Had to look twice to make sure I was at the right blog! Beautiful card and I love those papers. Your embellishments are just right, not too much, not too little and I love the little sentiment tag, nice touch. And I just read your email and now have to go eat my lunch with thoughts of what you said you were gonna eat, yuck!

  29. Thought for a moment I was on the wrong blog! Your DI treatment of the image is quite something & I love the way you did her hair but it's her boots that really take my breath away. Your positioning of the paper with the rose where it is is a super piece of designing.
Have a good rest of the week.

  55. Hi Elaine
WOW! WOW! WOW! Elaine this card is O.O.T.W., love the papers & as I've told you many many times your colouring is FAB-U-LUS & as for the sweet Summer Flower Tilda she is just so cute, (she just happened to drop in to my basket at Craftsulove last week), even though I'm supposed to be on a stamp diet lol. What a lovely Hubby you have to buy you the DI markers. I asked my (normally) very generous kind Hubby if he would buy me them, his answer was a VERY loud NO, he told me that I had enough colouring inks/copics/water colour pencils/DIs/inktense pencils to start my own shop & if I couldn't colour my images with what I had already had then possibly I needed to take up another hobby. I am going to show him your blog post later (to try & appeal to his nicer side)lol.
I hope this is going to be the first of many Tilda cards from you, as your card is lovely, I bet Gayle was over the moon with it & will treasure it for ever.
    hugs
