And Now For Something Completely Different...

It's 21 years ago today that my sister-in-law Claire gave birth to her third child, my lovely niece Rebekah.
Of course I wanted to make her a card, but my preferred choice of cards are cute and girly and as everyone has different tastes these are not always suitable so I went with something along the clean and simple lines.

As someone said to me 'these 20 minute cards are popular at the moment' and yes, it probably did take 20 minutes to make...after I'd sat there for an hour and a half staring into space and trying to find some inspiration!

Clean and simple is hard!

And for someone that struggles to add embellishments to their cards, it seems that on a CAS style of card that  I just don't know when to walk away and leave well alone!

PTI Products Used.
The kraft cardstock is embossed with the Tin Type impression plate.
Large scallop border die, butterfly die, numbers dies.
Sentiment, papers (for the 21) and the matching felt (thank you Amanda )

Thank you also to Maria for the beautiful circular die cut frame.

I certainly have a lot of different embellishments in my craft stash and I rarely use them so maybe if I make more CAS style cards then I will use them a lot more though of course that defeats the object...just like me to be backwards lol!
So any useful hints, tips and constructive comments would be welcome.

Happy 21st Birthday Rebekah!!!

Thanks for looking
Love

  3. hahaha, yes for some people it is hard to leave the clean and simple card alone after 20 minutes and move on with the next project. Same happens here all the time:-D
But you did make a lovely card. And I think it is still clean and simple.
Hope your niece will love the card too.

  5. some one says you did good, its hard to break away from multi layers but thats what trends are all about, big swing between one style and the next, just like hairdressing IYKWIM.

Time is something we all dont have enough of and now that you have designed this CAS Livesey Style you will be able to do the next one in 20mins, unless you get distracted by choccys!

  10. This looks absolutely splendid - I know only too well how long it takes to get something finished, my vintage tag took one & a half weeks!! so I think you did brilliantly with your just under two hours including thinking time with this one. Love the colours you put together (or should I say black & white plus kraft & colour)?
    Much love

  27. I love the bright pop of pink and the black scallop, really is a nice contrast to all of the kraft. And don't ask me about embellishments, I start out with a dozen and end up with a flower, thats it.
