Catch A Falling Star...

...And put it in your pocket
Save it for a rainy day.

Well, that rainy day has arrived!
The last time I took some holidays from work, I managed to colour a couple of spare images. Just one was left in a drawer, all alone in the dark, so I thought it was about time I used her on a card.
Now anyone that knows me will also know that I'm not much of a Tilda fan but I saw THIS stunning card over on Mandy's blog and I had the overwhelming urge to buy my first ever Tilda!!
Thank you Mandy...like I need another addiction :)
And so my first Tilda card was born. But I did buy another stamp after seeing THIS divine card over on Dena's blog...yeah, yeah Dena, just fan the flames lol.
My lovely friend Anne also inspires me with all her gorgeous Tilda creations.

I do need someone to teach me how to add embellishments!
OK, so this is Tilda Catching Stars and she's coloured with DI re-inkers and markers.
The gorgeous papers were from Maria for my birthday, thank you sweetie :)
The heart swirl and clover flower are both Magnolia dies, and the little star tag and sentiment is from PTI.

I've been asked if I will list the colours I've used:
Skin: Tattered Rose, Tea Dye.
Hair: Antique Linen, Walnut Stain.
Dress and Socks: Spun Sugar, Victorian Velvet, Aged Mahogany.
Shoes: Pumice Stone.
Stars, Crown, Wand: Sparkling Lemonade, Wild Honey, Spiced Marmalade and Rusty Hinge.

There are so many extremely talented crafters out there who love their Tilda's and create stunning works of art with them. I mean no disrespect to any of them by mentioning only the blogs above.
I couldn't even begin to list all the Magnolia themed blogs I visit!

I found a challenge I can maybe enter hooray!
Midweek Magnolias is asking for "Elegance" not sure whether it fits the theme or not.
Thanks for looking.

My Favourite Things ~ Candy ♥

Hmmmm...well this is a little bit late, but better late than never huh?

Do you remember this card I made back in May?

I made up a little candy with the basic card ingredients as above but then I just didn't get around to posting the candy on here, which is dumb as by now I guess most folks who love Tilda will have bought the stamp already!
 So here goes:

Inkido Forever Collection.
One set comprising of 6 sheets of 12x12 papers. As you can see, each sheet is made up of four 6x6 size designs. These papers are truly gorgeous!

And of course you need the stamp, Magnolia Summer Flower Tilda and a pack of Stampin' Up self adhesive pearls.
I included the MFT Die-namics Hibiscus die just because I have two of them :)

Rules of entry:
Candy is open to my followers but not to "candy only" blogs.
I will ship worldwide, though I am not liable to pay any import/customs duties that some countries impose.
Just click on the blue froggy to enter.
Thanks for looking.

Life's Little Annoyances.

I've no card to show tonight..no surprises there then! I just wanted to share a couple of things.

Like many other bloggers, I registered for MFC to protect the content of my blog. Yesterday I realised I hadn't received the usual emails off them, so I clicked on my own badge only to read that "This content has been removed" and if I feel that it is a mistake I should email them, which I duly did yesterday. I've heard nothing back so when I got home from work tonight I had a little trip through blogland and I've clicked on a few of the banners on other peoples blogs and they all say the same thing, I therefore presume it is an error at MFC's end of things. You may want to check on your own blog to see what your status is?

Next... Good Manners Cost Nothing!
I like to believe that I was 'brought up' well, and not 'dragged up'. My parents instilled in me and my brothers the value of saying please and thank you, and in turn I have always made sure that Hal says his thank yous. Regardless of how big or small a gift may be, the sender should always be thanked..they have taken the time to go out and buy a gift and send it!
So imagine my horror to receive an email...not a rude email, but certainly the sender was not happy! The content was to the effect that I had been ungrateful and impolite to not say thank you for my birthday card. I can assure you, I always say thank you! I know how much time and effort goes into creating these little works of art and I always appreciate a handmade card.
I always email (or leave a comment if I don't have the email address) as soon as I get home from work.
The reason I didn't send an email is simply that I didn't receive the card. I can hardly email someone to ask "did you send me a card because I haven't received one"!
I have apologised - I would never intentionally upset someone, I would like to think I'm a relatively nice person most of the time..though hubby says I only open my mouth to change me feet!

OK, I'm off to rustle up a storm in the kitchen, I'll be back later in the week with a card.

Sugar Bowl Challenge ~ 88

Good Morning :)
It's time for a new challenge over on the Sugar Bowl, always my favouritest day!
We have a fab sketch, this time from the Mama herself (Gayle) with an optional theme of Summertime.

And everybody say...awwwwwww.
Ain't she just the sweetest little fairy? So cute and chubbylicious!
I just had to ink up Lil' Sweetpea  because she's sooooo gorgeous :)
As is usual, she's coloured with DI refills and markers. The divine papers where a birthday gift from Sweetie Maria so I have no idea what make they are, but I did sob when I cut them :(
A Doo Hickey swirl, MFT butterflies and a few pearls.
I did think (briefly) of adding some flowers to make it more Summery and in keeping with the theme but I just couldn't cover up the pretty flowers on the papers.

As always, there is a prize chosen at random for one lucky winner, their choice of any 4 Sugar Nellie stamps.

The Sweeties are having their Summer vacations and this challenge will run for a month instead of the usual 2 weeks...plenty of time for you all to join in!
Now pop on over to the Sugar Bowl and you can see the gorgeous cards from all the other Sweeties.

Thanks for looking.

Sweet Blossom ♥

I'm such a bad girl! I don't make many cards at the best of times, but when I do then maybe I should remember to actually post them on here! I did post the card on Facebook and meant to put it straight on here too but something popped up and then I forgot..it's my age and my scatter brains.

I coloured this image the last time I was off work, I was feeling guilty that she'd sat in a box for so long being neglected.

The image is Sweet Blossom, a Wee stamp by Sylvia Zet for Whimsy. As always, she's coloured with a mix of DI re-inkers and markers. The gorgeous papers are Inkido - another of my favourite sets of papers!
Embellishments: A Doo Hickey heart flourish, a tiny punched flower (I think I might just remove that pearl and replace it with a yellow one to match the flowers on the image) and an MFT butterfly.
The sentiment is from WMS....sometimes we all need a great big hug :)

Thanks for looking.
