Today I'm back with my card for the new Sugar Bowl challenge.
We are again using the theme of 'anything goes' and the one and only rule is that you must use a Sugar Nellie image, either a rubber stamp or a digital image.
I was definitely having 'one of those days' when trying to put this card together!
Nothing went right at all. I couldn't manage to cut a piece of card straight and I used 2 full sheets of bazzil and numerous sheets of DP. Which resulted in me running out of the paper and being kind of stuck, since I had nothing else to match.
I emptied every box of embellishments in my search for something suitable, but nothing looked right.
So the result is a VERY plain card, even by my standards.
The one thing I do love about this card is the image.
Catch A Falling Star by Leanne Ellis is one of my most used rubber stamps.
She coloured with a mix of DI re-inkers and markers...yellow is not a colour I use often at all even though I love yellow, reminds me of Spring days.
The papers are again from the Maja Design Vintage Spring Basics pad.
And the sentiment is from an old Elzybells set, stamped onto La-la land stitched tabs dies.
As always, there is a prize for one entrant chosen at random. Their choice of any 4 Sugar Nellie images.
But you've got to be in it to win it!
Thanks for looking.

Ooh yay! I've been hankering after a little Elaine inspiration! Love your card and the colour palette. I think the card's perfect! Love the balance of the flower top left and the pearls bottom right. The way you mat your images is always so lovely, very little else needs to be going on around your beautifully coloured images. Hugs, Wends xxx
ReplyDeleteSO gorgeous! Your coloring still blows me away every time I see it. :) I just love it. You are my favorite colorer...colorist...uh, color person ever. hee hee!

A lovely breath of sunshine midst this busy busy world. It is actually perfect the way it is for it draws the eye to the flower which is an absolute echo of the little flower in her hair including the little swirl & leaf. Beautifully balanced by your 3 pearls. I'm glad (in the nicest possible way) you ran out of paper & couldn't add any more.

Hi Elaine!
ReplyDeleteI love the way you make this card, so clean and great colors. Not too much embellishments, love it. I turn a little that way with my cards. Sometimes people chance some things in life ;-)
Hugs Thea
Beautiful card,such a lovely image and details.xxx
ReplyDeleteOh, I know that feeling! The worst one is when you do a mistake and cut a piece to small, or the wrong way, and then everything is ruined. I can never get a straight, because my Cutterpede just wont do it. So if you look closely at my cards, the lines are always a bit off. :p
ReplyDeleteBut even with the trouble you had, your card is gorgeous! Love the beautiful image combined with a lovely sentiment, and the flower and colors of the papers are stunning. :) Amazing coloring, like always. :)
Lots of hugs, Anne.
