Sweet Sparkle

Good morning :)

I have a card to share that I actually made a few weeks ago, but I was waiting for it to make it's journey across many miles to reach it's final destination.

*sigh* I love this image and these papers ♥
Sweet Sparkle is of course designed by the amazingly talented Sylvia Zet and she's available as a rubber stamp HERE or as a digital image HERE.
She's coloured, as always, with a mix of DI re-inkers and markers.
Purples and pinks are colours I use often but on their own, not together, but this was in homage to my friend, (and my hero) as it's a favourite colour combo of hers.

I used lots of birthday goodies on this card...my new Lil' Inkers stitched circles dies, Maja Design Sofiera papers, Simon Says tilted banner die and sentiment, and those little enamel dots.
Thank you to all my friends, for all my lovely goodies...you're the best ♥

I have a lovely weekend planned! The hubby is working away in Wales and won't be home until Sunday evening or even Monday. The boy just sleeps away his days, as does the cat, so it's like being home alone.
And I plan to spend some time in my craft room (sort of praying that no visitors turn up!)
After all, I deserve it! Especially after this morning's trauma!
We were broken in to a couple of years ago, on a Saturday morning between 7 and 8am. Phil had bobbed into work and left home at 7 and discovered the burglary on his return an hour later. I was traumatised because I'd slept through it, blissfully unawares upstairs in my bed.
Since then, I've become slightly obsessed with security, but especially when Phil's working away.

Phil left early this morning while I was still asleep, but I woke up to the sounds of the bin men crashing and banging around outside, and I did wonder what on earth they were doing to make so much noise, they don't usually wake me up. So I might as well get out of bed, and make myself a cuppa. Halfway down the stairs I stopped dead in my tracks at the sight of the front door...wide open.
Jeez but I thought my heart was going to explode, it was banging so hard!
We'd been broken into again? Is there someone still in my house??
Nope, someone had left the door wide open on his way out this morning!! No wonder I thought it was so noisy outside.
I deserve a crafty weekend just to recover from the shock of it all!
(and I deserve some online shopping to ease the pain of my distress)

Thanks for looking
Love

  25. Hi Elaine, oh my! your gorgeous cards make me sigh too, thank goodness I would never have to judge which one I like the best. This one's a stunner mind you, so cute and all these lovely butterflies and papers. You must have been really scared to think someone was in your home again, brave you going downstairs! It must be awful knowing that some one has been in your home while you are still sleeping in bed, how awful that they leave people feeling that way. Yes you do deserve some me time and some online shopping therapy. Enjoy your weekend, I hope the sun shines and you win something on that lottery... Trish

  28. Oh dear Elaine!! You poor thing , you must have got a terrible fright!! I remember reading your blog post when you were broken into before and it sounded awful. My hubby is really bad for leaving doors unlocked on the house and car....but I am little bit OCD and check everything several times over, luckily for him!! But then again if it was left open when I was asleep , as you were, then there would be nothing I could do about it :(
Hope you enjoy your Crafty Weekend :)

I'd get some mileage out of that if I were you?! ;) Love your card hun, the pink and purple is gorgeous and I love, love, love the new stitched circle die. I was drooling over those dies after seeing some of your previous makes and have managed to pick up the square one and a cute pinwheel! In fact I mentioned you on my blog today in relation to this!
